SCHLENKER, Jeanne Penn
"Penny" 71, of Tierra Verde, FL, passed away on December 18, 2017. She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Bill; sons, Stephen (Julie) and Tim; brother, John (Linda) O'Brien; sisters, Laurie Clark and Tracy Roberts; grandchildren, Zack, Chelsie, and Nick; her great-grandchildren, Talia and Danny; and good friends, Janyce (Bill) Foster. Barbara Metcalf (Bartlett)
Penny and I were neighbors when I was five years old. Her house was the gathering place for the neighborhood. We played together, played pinball, climbed her tree in the backyard (Arthur) and played in the play house her father built. Barbara Minor Adler and Bill Huguet were also neighbors. The family built a house in Shore Acres when she was in grade school. Met Penny again when she was at NEHI. Through the years, we drifted apart. Found out years later, that a friend of mine was a neighbor of hers in Tierra Verde. We were having lunch one day before Christmas, and she told me a good friend of hers had passed away.....the next day, I saw Penny's obituary in the paper. It was a shock to say the least. We were friends on Facebook, and I loved seing the pictures she posted and what she was doing. She is greatly missed by her family and friends
